Shark seen spewing echidna in astonishing first

A tiger shark in northern Australia has provided specialists with the shock of their lives - by hurling a completely unblemished and broadly land-staying echidna.

The group from James Cook College (JCU) was out traveling labeling sharks close to Orpheus Island in Queensland when they saw the second in May 2022.

They accept it is whenever a tiger first shark has been recorded eating one of the spiky creatures, which can develop to around 50cm long.

"At the point when it spat it out, I took a gander at it and commented: "What in the world is that?" said shark scientist Nicolas Lubitz.

"I figured out how to just get one picture, yet you can see the framework of the echidna in the water."

The specialists trust the echidna - an animal categories which must be tracked down in Australia and portions of Papua New Guinea - probably been seized while it swam in the shallows or even between islands.

Known for their ravenous hungers, tiger sharks aren't precisely demanding eaters. They've been recorded eating seabirds, tires, tags and, surprisingly, a little television.

"I've seen recordings of them eating a stone for not a really obvious explanation," Dr Lubitz said.

It is, notwithstanding, more uncommon for them to disgorge food, yet he thinks this 3m-long shark underrated its catch.

"It was a completely flawless echidna with every one of its spines and its legs," he said.

"For this situation, I figure the echidna should have recently felt a piece entertaining in its throat."

The shark was safe during the experience and was thusly fitted with a tracker and delivered.

The JCU group was important for a three-year, vast work to label species, for example, snapper, mullet, beams and different types of sharks with acoustic and satellite trackers, to accumulate information on marine life occupying every region
